A seven-year-old Australian single malt from Starward distillery, bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange's 20th anniversary. Made in 2012, this whisky was matured in a single refill Apera cask – an Australian fortified wine, similar to Spanish sherry – before being bottled in 2019. Aromas of toffee, peach, pineapple, pear, sandalwood and vanilla custard fill the nose, with sharp lemon and golden sugar. The palate offers notes of caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, stewed apples and raisins, developing black pepper, toffee, pineapple and milk chocolate.
A 2004 Old Pulteney bottled exclusively for the 20th anniversary of The Whisky Exchange. Matured in a single ex-bourbon barrel before being bottled in 2019, this Highland single malt has a fruity, spicy character with aromas of salt and pepper, soft fruits, royal icing, muscat grapes and spiced sponge cake. The palate offers notes of creamy vanilla, candied lemon, sponge cake, barkey sugar, liquorice and cinnamon-baked apples.
Made at Clynelish distillery in 2005, this 14-year-old Highland single malt was bottled by Gordon and MacPhail in June 2019, exclusively for The Whisky Exchange's 20th anniversary celebrations. Matured in a single refill hogshead, it has aromas of honey-glazed nuts, salted caramel, sugared almonds and marmalade on croissants throughout the nose. The palate offers notes of orange, oatcakes, dark chocolate, raisins, cinnamon, barrel char and liquorice, before sweet cocoa and icing sugar develop in the finish.

A 1994 Aberlour from Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, matured in a refill hogshead for a quarter of a century, before being bottled in August 2019. Sweet aromas of juicy peaches, exotic spice, cookie dough and strawberry jam fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of gruit compote, chocolate ganache and rich barley.
A 1994 Miltonduff single malt from Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, matured in a single refill hogshead for a quarter of a century, before being bottled in 2019.
A 1994 Auchroisk from Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, matured in a single refill hogshead for a quarter of a century, before being bottled in August 2019. Aromas of damp wood, foraged fruits, barley and gentle spices fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of creamy toffee, vanilla, nutmeg and pear drops, with hints of ginger cake, almond biscuits and dark chocolate lingering in the finish.
A 2001 Braeval single malt from Douglas Laing's Old Particular range, this has been matured in a single sherry but for 18 years, before being bottled in August 2019.

A 1995 North British single grain whisky from Douglas Laing's Old Particular range, matured in a single refill cask before being bottled in August 2019. The palate is sweet and buttery, with notes of maple syrup. cramy vanilla, cookie dough and milk chocolate.

A 16-year-old single malt whiskey from Belfast's Kirker & Greer, matured exclusively in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. Aromas of vanilla custard, banana, stewed apple, honey and vanilla fudge fill the nose. The palate offers notes of chocolate cake, vanilla cream, tropical fruit and caramelised apples, alongside a hint of dry oak spice.
A triple distilled blended whiskey from Belfast's Kirker & Greer, a marriage of both grain and malt whiskies that have been rested in first-fill bourbon casks. Shamrock has aromas of toffee apples, buttery croissants, brown sugar, marmalade and white flowers. The palate offers notes of caramel milk chocolate, honeyed apples, white peppers and creamy vanilla.
Laid to rest in 1956, the same year that Mr George Urquhart became Gordon & MacPhail's senior partner. Matured in a single first-fill sherry butt, made to Mr George's specific requirements, for more than six decades, this rich, fruity Glen Grant single malt was bottled in June 2019 to commemorate what would have been his centenary year. Rich aromas of fruitcake, raisin and dried fig are complimented by Seville orange peel, beeswax, molasses, roasted walnut and burnt toffee on the nose. The palate is initially sweet, with notes of vibrant citrus, juicy sultanas and cinnamon, developing into rich tobacco, dark chocolate covered coffee beans, liquorice and charred oak.
A 10-year-old single grain whiskey from Belfast's Kirker & Greer, matured in first-fill bourbon casks. Aromas of grassy oak, vanilla fudge, banana bread and runny honey fill the nose. The palate offers notes of toffee popcorn, caramelised banana, pineapple, cinnamon and creamy vanilla.
Carefully crafted to honour the beautiful Donegal coastline and the magical creatures said to reside there, Silkie blended Irish whiskey aims to be just as beguiling as the Silkies themselves, with its soft mouth feel and its rich and warming flavour.
Made with barley smoked with cherry wood, mesquite wood and apple wood, this is a rich and oily American single malt with a distinctive smoky twang. Expect notes of apricot, apple, salty barbecue, toasted sugar and pastry, with a long savoury, smoky finish.

A nine-year-old Kilchoman single malt, distilled in 2010 and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and oloroso sherry butts, before being bottled in 2019.
A 1998 Ardmore single malt, mature in a refill hogshead for 21 years, before being bottled by indie bottler Thompson Bros. The nose has peaty aromas of poached pears, vanilla, peach and salty seaweed. The palate offers notes of soft white fruit, salty seashore, wax, white pepper and medicinal peat, with a gentle minerality throughout.
Port Charlotte's 10-year-old, rich and smoky whisky made by the independently minded folks at Bruichladdich distillery on Islay. It is big and peaty with a maritime tang – the Bruichladdich team would claim that it's because their warehouses are so close to the sea, we're still undecided. In the end, the most important thing is the taste: it's rather good. This gift set also contains a pair of glasses.
An unaged rye spirit from Buffalo Trace Distillery, White Dog Rye Mash pays homage to the first spirits made by settlers in America, known as White Dog, which would later become whiskey. The palate is fresh and green, with spicy rye notes and sweet, creamy cereals.
Kilkerran Heavily Peated has been matured in of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, adding a fruity, sweet character alongside the savoury peat centre. The nose is full of fresh apple, strawberry and boiled sweet aromas, with an undercurrent of wood-smoke and toasted marshmallows. The palate offers notes of buttery popcorn, brown sugar, freshly-baked pastry and peppermint creams, before developing into vanilla, butter, toasted oats and sea-salt that linger in the finish.
Made in 1966 at Longmorn distillery, this Speyside single malt has been matured in a first-fill sherry butt for more than half a century, before being bottled in March 2019 for Gordon & MacPhail's Private Collection.
A 5-year-old Campbeltown blended malt whisky from Thompson Brothers, matured in a refill hogshead. The palate offers notes of chamomile, citrus and apple.
For peat lovers, Ardbeg 10 Year Old is probably the highest-quality 'entry-level' single malt on the market, and the distillery many Islay connoisseurs would choose as their favourite. A whirlwind of peat and complex malty flavours.
This unique gift pack is shaped like a bone to honour the distillery's mascot Shortie, a Jack Russell terrier rumoured to have 'the peatiest nose on Islay... apart from Ardbeg of course'.
The eight release of Glendronach Cask Strength has been matured in both Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry casks for a decade. Aromas of sandalwood, oak, aromatic Colombian coffee, manuka honey and cocoa fill the nose. The palate offers notes of velvety caramel, mocha, cherry, chocolate cake, dates, plum skins and sultanas, before developing into traces of espresso, cocoa, liquorice and tobacco that linger in the finish.
We've managed to find some bottles of Maker's Mark's cask-strength, rarely seen over this side of the pond. Richer and more intense than the standard bottling, this batch has been bottled at 55.45%.

The 2019-release of Macallan's 18 Year Old triple-cask-matured single malt. Aged in a combination of sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, as well as ex-bourbon casks, this is a fruity Highland single malt with notes of citrus, dried fruit, bitter cocoa and oak spice throughout the palate.
Formerly known as Fine Oak, Triple Cask is part of the 2018 relaunch of the Macallan range. This has been aged for a total of 12 years in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks.
A collaboration between East London Liqueur Co. and Sonoma Distilling Company's Adam Spiegel, this London Rye whisky has been matured in a variety of casks, including ex-peated whisky casks and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Aromas of honey, brandy-soaked cherries, almond butter, hay and honeysuckle fill the nose. The palate offers notes of black pepper, dried apricots, candied cherries, coffee and porridge.
Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-rye whiskey casks from Sonoma and Kentucky, this East London single malt has aromas of milk chocolate, peanut butter, fresh hay and buttery biscuits. The palate offers notes of bitter almonds, biscuits, green tomatoes and light tar, with hints of peanut butter throughout.
A half bottle of Buffalo Trace's White Dog Wheated Mash. White Dogs are commonly released from American distilleries whereas they are rare from scotch ones. Made from a mash composed of wheat, corn and barley and then bottled without ageing.
A limited-edition 2001 GlenAllachie that has been matured in a Pedro Ximenez hogshead for 18 years, before being bottled as part of the distillery's Single Cask series. Fruity aromas of orange zest and green apples are balanced by Dark chocolate and cinnamon on the nose. The palate offers notes of honeycomb, barley sugar, raisins, treacle, orange peel and sweet baking spices.
A 31-year-old blended malt whisky from North Star Spirits, Sirius has been matured in first fill bourbon barrels, before being bottled in 2019. Named after the brightest star in the night sky, Sirius is a waxy, citrusy whisky with a rich, malty backbone.
The sixth edition of North Star Spirits' limited-edition Vega blended malt whisky is a combination of whiskies distilled in 1996 and matured in a combination of European and American oak for 22 years, before being bottled in July 2019.
This 5-year-old Campbeltown blended malt has been finished in a Perdo Ximenez sherry cask, before being bottled in August 2019 by indie bottler North Star Spirits.
The second batch of Tomatin's limited-edition 30-year-old Highland single malt has been matured in a combination of first fill bourbon barrels and refill hogsheads.

Fresh aromas of orchard fruit, pineapple, cinnamon and mint fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of heather honey, raisins, orange peel, toffee and apricots, over a backdrop of sweet cinnamon.

Tropical aromas of pineapples, orange zest, sweet spices and mint fill the nose. The palate offers notes of apricots, pineapple, coconut, cinnamon and refreshing mint.

This Danish malted rye whisky is made with 70% rye and 30% barley, grown locally and malted at Stauning Distillery in Denmark. Initially matured for three years in virgin American oak barrels, Stauning Rye has been finished in Plantation Rhum casks for a further eight months, creating a smooth, tropical character.

A 2005 Craigellachie single malt, matured in a refill bourbon barrel for 13 years before being bottle by Gordon & MacPhail in June 2019, as part of its Connoisseurs Choice series. Sweet, floral aromas of apple blossom, malted barley, pear, line and soft vanilla fudge fill the nose, followed by hints of chocolate and fresh pine. The palate offers notes of black pepper, green apple, keylime pie, apple blossom, aniseed, banana and oak.
A 2008-vintage single malt from Taiwan's Kavalan distillery, this has been matured in sherry casks to create a rich, fruity edge to this tropical whisky.

A rich and fruity 12-year-old single malt from Edradour, matured in a single ex-sherry cask for 12 years. Aromas of dried fruits and crème caramel fill the nose, complimenting notes of red berries, dried fruit, orange peel, Christmas cake and cinnamon throughout the palate.
A single cask Longmorn, distilled in 2013 and matured in an ex-bourbon hogshead for three years and finished in an ex-Glen Moray barrel for a further two years, before being bottled by A.D. Rattray in September 2019, as part of its Cask Collection. Aromas of toasted marshmallows, vanilla and orange peel fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of creamy coconut, candyfloss and zesty citrus.
A single-cask release of Bunnahabhain, bottled by Elixir Distillers as part of the Single Malts of Scotland Director's Special range. Matured for 31 years in a single cask, this whisky holds aromas of Victoria sponge with raspberry jam, pear drops, cherry brandy and pink-champagne-cake, with undertones of tar, wax and engine oil. The palate offers notes of Wine Gums, grape jelly and heather honey, followed by damp driftwood, sea salt, chocolate stout cake, root beer and cinnamon.
This 2008 Tomatin single malt has been matured in an ex-bourbon hogshead for 11 years, before being bottled in April 2019 by indie bottler Artful Dodger.
The second release in The Lakes Distillery's Whiskymaker's Reserve series, this is a robust cask-strength whisky that has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, red wine and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Rich aromas of dried fruit, wood spice and vanilla fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, crystalised ginger and toasted oak.
Distilled on the 23rd of December 1973, this elegant Campbeltown single malt has spent 45 years in ex-bourbon barrels before being bottled. Coastal aromas of sea-soaked basalt mingle with ripe pineapple, crisp green apple, rose petals, vanilla and toasted oak. The palate offers notes of caramel, pineapple, mango, watermelon, vanilla and honey, with hints of sea-salt and lime lingering in the finish.
Distilled 1990 at Littlemill distillery, this 29-year-old single malt was made shortly before the distillery's closure and matured in seven refill bourbon casks, before being finished in first-fill oloroso sherry and Limousin oak casks. Floral, spicy aromas of honeysuckle, cinnamon and nutmeg fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of crisp green apples, pear, kiwi, sweet caramel and orange marmalade.
This bottle comes presented in a specially-made Glencairn crystal decanter, alongside a 5cl miniature and a piece of the original Littlemmill cask.

Distilled in September 2007, this Glenrothes single malt has been matured in a single sherry butt for 11 years before being bottled by North Star Spirits in August 2019. A fruity, rich whisky, the palate offers notes of sherry, dried fruit, pecans, chocolate and caramel truffles and peppery apricot jam.
This peated single malt was distilled at Caol Ila, and finished in a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask, before being bottled by North Star Spirits in August 2019 at nine-years-old.
Matured for 14 years in amontillado-sherry seasoned hogsheads, this rich and fruity 2004 Cardhu has been bottled as part of Diageo's 2019 Special Releases. Aromas of caramel, hazelnut, almonds, pastry, waxed lemons, wood polish and raisins mingle on the nose. The palate offers notes of zesty lemons, burnt toffee, toasted oak, rich fruit cake and chocolate sauce, before developing warm baking spice and ginger cake flavours that linger in the finish.

The 2015 vintage of single malt distilled in England's picturesque Cotswolds, released as a limited edition. This is no novice whisky, however, it's a highly enjoyable dram with notes of orange peel, spice, oaky malt and dark sugar.
A blended whisky from The Lakes distillery, The One Signature Blend combines The Lakes single malt with both grain and malt whiskies from Scotland. Complex yet balanced, the palate offers notes of honey-roasted nuts, peaches, treacle, cinnamon, toasted oak and dried fruits.
A single-cask unpeated whisky, distilled at Bruichladdich distillery in 1992, this has been matured in a single barrel for 26 years before being bottled by Elixir Distillers in July 2019, as part of its Single Malts of Scotland series. Aromas of freshly-baled hay, sawdust and summer flowers mingle with toffee and liquorice on the nose, and the palate offers notes of rosemary, violets, spearmint, warm tarmac roads, agave and lemon peel.
After half a century maturing in a single ex-sherry hogshead, this 1969-vintage single malt from Benromach was bottled in June 2019. Rich and fruity, this whisky has gentle undertones of smoke and delicate oak spice.
heavily sherried Morthlach single malt, distilled in 1992 and matured in first-fill oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks for 26 years, before being bottled as part of Diageo's 2019 Special Releases. Aromas of black tea, jam on toast, leather an tar open on the nose, followed by dried fruit, apple upside-down, ginger cake cake and caramel. The palate initially offers notes of spiced sponge cake, burnt raisins, buttery pastry and hot caramel, slowly developing plums, liquorice, fruit cake and Caramac bars.
Pittyvaich is often described as rare – it was only open for 19 years and closed back in 1993. This is the third Special Release from the distillery since 2015, ‘double-matured’ in oloroso and Pedro-Ximénez-seasoned casks. A complex and rewarding palate of citrus, malt, caramel, orange and buttery pastry.
An advance of seven years on 2018's Special Releases Talisker, this is a big, sooty, earthy single malt run-through with lashings of ripe citrus and treacle sponge, and plenty of warming spice. Plenty of heft and darkness to be found here, alongside classic, coastal Talisker character for purists to revel in.
2019's Diageo Special Releases bring us a 12-year-old Lagavulin matured in refill American oak casks. Sweeter and more mineral than previous releases, it has aromas of sweet green peat, green apples, lemon oil, wood smoke, warm tar and brine. The palate offers notes of salty sea breeze, fresh green veg, young oak, saucy barbecue sauce, cinnamon, lemon lockets and earthy, damp peat.
A cask-strength Signleton of Glen Ord, matured in freshly-charred American oak hogsheads for 18 years, before being bottled as part of Diageo's 2019 Special Releases. Delicate aromas of ripe apricots, raspberry jam, candied peel and cinnamon rolls mingle with chocolate-covered cherries, peach, sponge cake and barkey sugar on the nose. The palate offers notes of apricot frangipane, baking spices, orange peel, dark chocolate, mint and oak spice.
Matured in a combination of refill hogsheads and butts for three decades, this Dalwhinnie single malt is an elegant addition to Diageo's 2019 Special Releases. Aromas of raisins, leather, lemon and cinnamon-baked apples mingle with mint, grape jelly, honeysuckle, spring meadows and hay. The palate offers notes of summer flowers, vanilla toffee, delicate oak spice and slices of apple and pear, followed by zesty lemon, candied flowers, grystalised ginger and buttery shortbread biscuits.
The first-ever release of smoky whisky from Cragganmore distillery, this Speyside single malt has been matured in refill American oak casks for 12 years, before being bottled for Diageo's 2019 Special Releases. Aromas of crispy bacon and waxy lemons open on the nose, followed by burning leaves, damp peat, fresh pine, cinnamon bark and buttered malt loaf. The palate offers notes of spiced toffee, sponge cake, soft smoke and moss, developing into spiced chocolate, candied orange, charred leaves and damp oak.
Matured for over three decades in American white oak bourbon barrels, this 1989 Rare Vintage Jura single malt has an exotic character with aromas of honeyed pears, freshly-baked bread, ripe bananas and vanilla cake. The palate offers notes of peaches in syrup, cinnamon, toffee apples and sweet white chocolate.
The 2019 release of Glenrothes Halloween edition single malt has arrived, a 13-year-old whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, and finished in a cask that previously held peated whisky. The palate offers notes of earthy peat, creamy vanilla, dried fruit, cinnamon and clove-studded oranges.

The 2016 release of Eagle Rare 17 Year Old from Buffalo Trace's annual Antique Collection. This is packed with notes of wood spice, cherry, toffee and vanilla.
William Larue Weller is the wheated-bourbon expression in the Antique Collection from Buffalo Trace. The 2016 release is at a punchy 67.7% and is rich and warming with notes of cherry, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and tobacco.
The 11th edition of this acclaimed single barrel series from the Heaven Hill distillery. The name comes from Heaven Hill's late master distiller, Parker Beam, and each bottling is designed to be a tribute to his expertise. This 11 Year Old bourbon has notes of oak, cinnamon, tobacco, raisins and caramel popcorn.
2016's release of the whiskey often seen as the pinnacle of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection is one of the strongest ever at 72.05%. George T Stagg is packed full of intense flavours of leather, vanilla and caramel.
A sherry-led expression from Aberlour, Casg Annamh – Gaelic for 'rare cask' – isn't pulling any punches at 48% ABV. Triple matured in European oak ex-sherry, American oak ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, this is a bold, flavoursome and exceptionally balanced whisky full of fresh fruit, sherried nuttiness and woody spice.
Batch 63 of Aberlour's much-loved A'Bunadh is a big, rich sherry-matured single malt with aromas of sultanas, dates, dark chocolate and cinnamon throughout the nose. The palate offers notes of toffee, rich malt, vanilla, Christmas cake, figs, caramel and spicy white pepper.
This 12-year-old Westport blended malt whisky has been matured in a single ex-sherry cask before being bottled by Valinch & Mallet in 2019.
This sweet, spicy Swiss single malt from Seven Seals has been finished in ex-sherry casks and bottled at cask strength. The palate offers notes of toffee, gingerbread, roasted almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.
