Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Blended Whiskey

For those of you who know me personally you may well be aware my mother-in-law was Irish and over the years my wife and I have holidayed in Ireland. On one of those memorable holidays we visited the Tyrone Crystal factory.  I must say it is a gorgeous crystal and delightful to drink out of.  Unfortunately it no longer exists which makes our personal collection even more precious.  One of our purchases was a very ornate crystal decanter.

If you check back on  my posts you will see that I have tasted the Tullamore due 12 year old single malt and a fine dram it is.

I came across m this bottle the other day and I was unaware that they actually had a Triple Blend.

Let’s now open the bottle and have a wee taste.

Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey, Triple Blend, Triple Distilled, 40% Alc/vol 70 cl

Colour…Runny heather honey.

Nose…Nice and gentle on the nose, marshmallow dipped in chocolate, ripened fruits, new oak stave.

Taste…So smooth, if you add water ensure it is only a teardrop, fruit salad drizzled with runny heather honey, vanilla, passion fruit jelly babies, a full on Caribbean punch, someone with a sweet tooth will love this one.

Finish…Short to medium, vanilla and fruit remain in charge.

This dram is one of the smoothest Irish Whiskies i have tasted so far. Very silky and smooth, just a delight on the palate.

Now it comes to the price. It is available at many outlets for up to £28.00, but I managed to secure a bottle from my local supermarket for only £18.00 what a steal. I will now be keeping a bottle or two in my drinks cabinet.
