SMWS Outturn June 2026 goes live on Friday 6th June 2026

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society releases (outturn) several single cask bottlings of Scotch, Whisk(e)y, Rum and Gin, to name a few, usually on the first Friday of every month.

See below the full list of bottles being released for the June 2026 outturn. If you are not a member, Don’t worry you can join the SMWS here but be quick several of the bottlings sell out as quickly as the day they are released.

6.93 – Postprandial Parcel

66.2% ~ 2nd Fill Ex-Bourbon Hogshead ~ 9yo ~ Highland ~ £55.00

The nose opened in a sweet shop, offering runny caramel and toffee apples, but soon wandered into an orchard ready for picking. Notes of coconut shells, freshly chopped wood and a dry oakiness emerged from behind the initial sweetness. On the palate, a surprising aniseed heat and a wave of blackcurrant and liquorice led to a rich, malty core of bran cereal and sugared almonds. 12.93 – Fondant Correspondent

56.6% ~ Refill Ex-Oloroso Hogshead ~ 15yo ~ Speyside ~ £98.00

A refreshing cream soda, stirred with treacle, candyfloss and sun lotion, came served in a leather boot. The palate gave us crystallised honey, birch sap and a cask-aged treacle mead, accented with geraniums and malt loaf. The finish was dry and oaked at this stage. Water brought a beeswax aroma, with cigars and cedar following burnt sugar and golden meringue. 16.102 – Barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwich

62.1% ~ 2nd Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel ~ 11yo ~ Highland ~ £70.00

A sooty and sweet, smoky scent immediately filled the room, reminding us of a barbecued pulled pork sandwich smothered in a homemade barbecue sauce, with crispy onion strings and tangy coleslaw. On the palate, we found peat-smoked kippers and gherkins next to flame-charred pork scratchings and, in the finish, ashy strawberry-flavoured marshmallows. Following the addition of water, the Panel nosed sweet smoked Spanish paprika powder as well as roasted hazelnut shells and, in the background, a smouldering tarry driftwood beach bonfire… read more


26.227 – Fruit Scone Bonbon

50.8% ~ 1st Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel ~ 13yo ~ Highland ~ £98.00

Squeezing the handle and turning the gear of a can opener delivered a rush of sweet, fruit-forward perfume: tinned peaches, rosewater, pineapple and banana pie, and lemon verbena dusted with sandalwood shavings. The palate was thick and oily, delivering tropical clotted cream, exotic gelato, a splash of white vermouth and strawberry bonbons bobbing in chai tea… read more


39.328 – Spanish-American Speyside Scotch

53.5% ~ 1st Fill Ex-Oloroso Butt ~ 17yo ~ Speyside ~ £100.00

A perfect summer fruit salad of strawberries, kiwi, oranges, blueberries and pineapple in a refreshing citrus sauce opened proceedings – developing, over time, into a pick ‘n’ mix candy jar. On the palate things were much darker, delivering plenty of spice, plums, stewed prunes, maple syrup and star anise, and a finish of black pepper and chocolate with a high cocoa content. 44.199 – Find Your Balance

58.8% ~ 1st Fill Ex-Bourbon Hogshead ~ 10yo ~ Speyside ~ £65.00

First impressions on the nose conveyed a definite earthy, woodland vibe, with moss, fallen leaves, damp logs and freshly dubbined hiking boots – but we also got dried apricots, honey on buttered toast, apples, pears and cinnamon danish. The palate was robust, bringing lots of spice, wood, lemon zest and espresso, plus earthiness again with rye bread, speck ham and roasted sweet potato. 46.168 – Blooming Nuts

58.4% ~ 1st Fill Ruby Port Barrique ~ 11yo ~ Speyside ~ £60.00

Flowering blooms, lavender fields, patchouli and aromas of a well-loved cosmetics bag and elegant leather gloves greeted the Panel. The nose deepened into a blend of jumbo oats, mixed nuts, fennel and poppy seeds, enriched by blackcurrant cordial and treacle sponge. On the palate, nuts took the lead: whole nuts, cracked walnuts and walnut loaf – before black grapes, prickly pears, pink peppercorns and candied sultanas joined in. Perfume from a silk scarf and glowing oaky embers lingered in the background. Water brought out strawberries, damsons and figs in a trail mix of sweetness and spice… read more


48.185 – The Cooper and the Craft

48.2% ~ 1st Fill HTMC Hogshead ~ 17yo ~ Speyside ~ £96.00

The varnished hush of an antique library, home to all the arcane tomes on the secrets of coopering, lingered over blowtorched watermelon and golden-syrup popcorn, its butterscotch sweetness curling through the pages of leather-bound books. Melting butter and candied ginger whispered from dusty shelves, while thick tannins marched in carrying liquorice torpedoes and old saddles. A splash of water unlocked tonka bean toffee, rum-and-raisin fudge and the citrus lift of satsumas, before mandarins and bergamot-scented shortbread settled like well-thumbed pages… read more


58.64 – Disarmingly Debonair

54.9% ~ 1st Fill American Oak Ex-PX Hogshead ~ 18yo ~ Speyside ~ £125.00

The Panel initially detected some highly inviting notes of crystallised honey, dark fruit chutneys and tangy impressions of long-aged balsamic. We also found cedarwood boxes full of unlit cigars and candied pecan nuts. Water brought caramelised brown sugar, dark hot chocolate topped with toasted marshmallow, assorted citrus marmalades full of spices and crystallised exotic fruits. The neat palate was disarmingly elegant, delivering slightly mentholated sherry flavours, rancio and abundant notes of figs, plum wine, sultanas, prunes and aged armagnac… read more


60.51 – Pivot to Petrichor

58.7% ~ 1st Fill STR, Oloroso Seasoned Barrique ~ 12yo ~ Highland ~ £75.00

A leafy and honeyed nose greeted the Panel, with further impressions noted of black forest gâteau, boozy cherries, darjeeling tea and milk chocolate. Reduction brought coconut dipped in dark chocolate, red berry fruitiness, granola drizzled with honey and deeper hints of walnut oil and camphor. The neat palate was full of caramel wafers, dried flowers, mint tea, sweet heather ales and an earthy, vegetal hint of roasted red peppers. Water delivered a subtle umami note, with preserved lemons, salted black liquorice, treacle and yeast extract… read more


64.171 – Alpine Chalet Breakfast

55.7% ~ 1st Fill American Oak Ex-Oloroso Hogshead ~ 13yo ~ Speyside ~ £70.00

Looking out at the Alps, the nose evoked breakfast in our chalet – muesli with raisins and porridge with brown sugar, strawberries, maple syrup on crusty bread and chamomile tea. The palate entertained us with chelsea buns and dried dates, spicy fruit cake and cinnamon bagels, cherries, plums, red wine and coffee. With water, the nose discovered waxed wood and waxed fruits, agave syrup, orange zest and blackcurrant. On the palate, this evolved into sweet red vermouth and marmalade on burnt toast, plus crystallised ginger, rolling tobacco and cough mixture… read more


66.268 – We’ll Be Dramming!

49.0% ~ Bourbon & American Oak Oloroso ~ 27yo ~ Highland ~ £199.00

This rich, smoky whisky has acquired depth and complexity through long maturation in American white oak (both bourbon and oloroso sherry casks) and is the perfect pour to toast the team’s achievement. The nose opened with a warm glow of tobacco and marzipan soaked in brandy. Confit tangerine, honey and barley sugars were followed by dried apricots and a soft swirl of lemon danish. The fruit character grew steadily as we sucked orange lozenges, while a shimmer of blowtorched mango added brightness. The palate carried a savoury thread of smoked cheese and chutney, with depth coming from black pepper and charcoal crackers… read more


71.115 – The Bouquet’s Embrace

58.2% ~ 1st Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel ~ 16yo ~ Speyside ~ £98.00

A bouquet of bacon in a well-fired Scottish morning roll was embraced by seaweed butter, a dusting of sandalwood and a dollop of strawberry jam. The palate gave delicious contrast, delivering Caribbean rum punch, nutmeg shavings, grapefruit and lemon peels, madeira cake and cinnamon. Water had the nose following the palate now; warm custard stirred with cinnamon sticks and splashed with cloudy lemonade came garnished with candied peel and spoons of key lime pie… read more


73.175 – Summer Camp Experience

60.3% ~ 2nd Fill STR Ex-Oloroso Barrique ~ 14yo ~ Speyside ~ £80.00

The nose gave us crunchy nut cornflakes, a dark chocolate-coated cereal bar with cranberries, a caramel log, toasted marshmallows, potpourri and new tweed. On the palate, spun sugar, maple syrup and sherbet straws balanced sharp fruits (damson, blackcurrant and peach), before a spicy finish of pickled ginger, wasabi and liquorice. With water, the nose picked up vanilla, shortbread, cigar boxes and camping in summer (dry grass and canvas). The palate acquired honey-glazed almonds, lemon meringue pie, chocolate-hazelnut spread and chocolate-marshmallow tea cakes… read more


79.15 – Fifty Shades of Citrus

60.1% ~ 1st Fill Ex-Bourbon Barrel ~ 8yo ~ Highland ~ £64.00

The neat nose on this one revealed a playful and pleasingly light, zingy and refreshing fruitiness. We also detected jelly beans, lemon and lime bonbons, citrus curds, finger limes, bay leaf and pink grapefruit. It appeared to be all about the citrus, the Panel agreed. With water things became richer and more emphatically cereally, toasty and waxy, with notes of fresh warm draff, freshly baked breads, sourdough starter and autolytic champagne… read more


85.111 – Doorway to Decadent Comlexity

55.2% ~ 1st Fill Ex-Bodega PX Barrique ~ 16yo ~ Speyside ~ £88.00

The initial nose was a delicious dessert platter of honeycomb, sweet cookie dough and crème caramel, underscored by sugared almonds, a rustic hint of lavender and a woolly jumper. The palate delivered mint choc chip ice cream and red wine-poached pear. A wave of maple sweetness (bark, syrup and nuts) was balanced by vibrant plums, apples and limes. Water brightened the nose, giving us fresh pear juice, tinned cherries and honey nut loops, which led to gingerbread snaps and mandarin marmalade. Fruit Bomb, Batch No: 40

50.0% ~ Toasted Oak & Vanilla ~ 10yo ~ £55.00

For the creation of this fruity number the Whisky Team searched the warehouse high and low to find whiskies with inherently fruity spirit character and then blended them in a delicious manner. That’s it! It’s a fresh fruity corker of a dram. The stunningly fruity nose opened on opulent notes of pear drops, pineapple cubes, a crisp sauvignon blanc and vanilla crème pâtissière, alongside apple blossom, peach rings and apricot jelly, elevated by a touch of nutmeg and white pepper. On the palate, the rich creamy texture bore with it a cornucopia of peaches, pears, red apples and limes, plus a side of peach yogurt, ripe banana porridge, coriander seeds and dried apricots… read more
