SMWS Outturn January 2021

SMWS Outturn January 2021 is now live.

Great Scots Tongue Twisters – The Scotch Malt Whisky Society release (outturn) several single cask bottlings of Scotch, Whisk(e)y, Rum and Gin, to name a few, usually on the first Friday of every month. Below is a full list of what the SMWS Great Scots Tongue Twisters outturn which is being released on the Monday 25th January 2021 has to offer.

The SMWS January 2021 outturn has 28 Scotch whiskies to choose from. These whiskies includes a 15 year old Bunnahabhain and an 11 year old Highland Park and much, much more… These unique monthly bottlings are only available to buy by members of the Society. (Don’t worry you can join the SMWS here) but be quick several of the bottlings sell out as quickly as the day they are released.

One panellist imagined carrying fresh hay into an old, but very well-kept, barn while another was drinking pineapple juice at a petrol station. The palate neat would probably reach yellow on the Scoville scale but it was well balanced by the sweet fruitiness of a tropical fruit syllabub adding plenty of honey and lemon juice….read more

A real beauty – waxed lemons, white chocolate, fudge sundae, spearmint, ripe red apples, honey, hints of virgin olive oil, salty sea spray and a wisp of smoke. We sat on the harbour wall and opened our lunch box – Caprese salad made of sliced fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, sweet basil and seasoned with olive oil and salt. Definitely ‘seaside-y’ on the palate as we drank a truly Japanese kombucha – seaweed tea with the addition of a touch of smoke followed by saltwater taffy….read more

We blew dust off an old tea chest to find coconut laden toasted oak, jasmine tea leaves and red liquorice before opening the rum released a flood of caramel, banana and autumn leaves.
