SMWS Outturn September 2020

SMWS Outturn September 2020 is now live.

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society release (outturn) several single cask bottlings of Scotch, Whisk(e)y, Rum and Gin, to name a few, on the first Friday of every month. Below is a full list of what the SMWS Global Gathering Outturn released on the 4th September 2020 has to offer.

This month there are 22 Scotch whiskies and 1. These whiskies include an 18-year-old Macallan and much, much more… These unique monthly bottlings are only available to buy by members of the Society. (Don’t worry you can join the SMWS here) but be quick several of the bottlings sell out as quickly as the day they are released.

After 13 years in ex-bourbon wood we transferred this into a first-fill PX hogshead. The panel didn’t catch the smoke right away, but it soon become evident – smoked pork, kippers, smouldering peats and beach bonfires. We found a rather spicy hit at first nosing, lots of Chinese duck glaze, five spice, cola syrup, black pepper, sweet malt extract, aniseed and pears in syrup.
