A fruity, limited-edition whiskey that was double-distilled at Cooley's and then filled into bourbon barrels for 16 years. This is a rich, oily single malt with vibrant fruit flavours and a long, herbal finish.

Tyrconnell was a two-year-old chestnut colt that, against the odds, won the National Produce Stakes Horse Race in 1876. This achievement was initially commemorated in a small-batch whiskey made by the local Watts family and now again, 140 years later, in this new limited-edition single malt.

Octomore 2009 | Masterclass 8.4 | Virgin Oak

70cl / 58.7% | Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky | Distillery Bottling

Octomore 8.4, the last in this masterclass series, was created to examine the effect of virgin oak on Bruichladdich's intensely peaty spirit. (The Scottish barley for this edition was peated to 170ppm.) To achieve a balance of smoke and oak characteristics, 20% of the whisky was matured exclusively in virgin oak, while 80% was aged in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and then finished in European virgin oak, which had previously held Octomore 7.4.

The result is a rich and complex dram with notes such as praline, coconut and clove matched by those of barbeque, burnt heather and iodine.

Glenmorangie The Tayne

In 1583 a Spanish Armada was rounding Scotland as it fled from the English Navy. Legend has it that one of the boats in the fleet was sunk in the Tayne Firth near the distillery (now The Dornoch Firth) and that many of its survivors settled in Scotland. This whisky pays homage to those men and their stricken vessel, by putting a Spanish twist on Glenmorangie's classic character.

Finished in, unusually, amontillado sherry casks, Tayne is a fragant whisky with notes including rose petals, roast chestnuts, sweet toffee, Muscovado sugar and tropical fruits.
