Kiefer Sutherland Launches Red Bank Canadian Whisky in the UK
Kiefer Sutherland together with three friends and colleagues (Gary Briggs, Shawn Hiscott and Rob Steele ) founded Red Bank Premium Blended Canadian Whisky. Distilled on the rocky shores of Nova Scotia.
Michel Marcil – Master Blender using Canadian wheat as his main ingredient together with Canadian rye and corn.
Kiefer Sutherland said.
“The thing that I found so fascinating about Red Bank and this journey developing the whisky is the incredible pride Canadians take in themselves and their country.
I was born in England and I know the British people feel the same, but I grew up in Canada and one of the things that I’ve admired about Canada is its great diversity not just in its landscapes and culture, but its people as well.
I am proud to have Red Bank represent all that is authentically Canadian and I am absolutely thrilled to bring it to the UK”
Let’s open the bottle and have a taste.
Red Bank – Hand Crafted Premium Blended Canadian Whisky, 40% Alc/vol 70 cl
Colour…Citron gold leaf.
Nose…Elegant, lively and balanced, lightly toasted oak stave, an open bag of broken biscuits, mild spices creeping in and a touch of caramel.
Taste…Velvety smooth and soft, caramelised nuts, new sawn oak, sweetened breakfast cereal, toffee tart, clover honey and the mild spices are still lingering, a puff of white pepper.
Finish…Medium finish, wood and cereal linger the longest, sophistication in a glass.
This blend is a little pricey at a few pounds under £50.00. It is a well-balanced dram. Served neat or with a teardrop of water is great, it is also great in an Old Fashioned cocktail.
This bottle is best shared with family and good friends. This is a bottle to consider for a fathers day gift.
