Tales from the Terminal – February 2009

Well Christmas and the New Year and their associated holidays are now in the distant past.

Back to work and that is what it is all about, flying up and down to London Heathrow ensuring that all electrics in the new terminal are up to scratch, (I hear you say “is Dougie the only electrical craftsman working in the whole terminal”, the answer is yes).

But onto more interesting and enjoyable items relating to Whisky.

On my outward journey from Glasgow International Airport on Monday 16th February at approx 4pm I did my usual fly-past of the World of Whisky duty free and was, as usual given the odd wee dram for a taste and my opinion, delightful.

I have listed below the current prices of litre bottles of Scotch, remember most of these carry the special offer, buy two and get £10 off.

Auchentoshan 12 Year Old £24.99

Balvenie Doublewood 12 Year Old £28.99

Bowmore Enigma 12 Year Old £25.99

Dalmore 12 Year Old £31.99

Glenfiddich 12 Year Old £25.99

Glenlivit 12 Year Old £25.99

Glenlivit 18 Year Old £41.99

Glenmorangie Original 10 Years Old £27.99

Glenmorangie Lasanta £30.99

Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year Old £27.99Darach Ur

Laphroaig Quarter Cask £30.99

Bunnahabhain Darach Ur £32.99

Well that looks a grand wee selection.

Jim has asked me to bring him back a litre of  Bunnahabhain Whisky – Darroch Ur plus a surprise selection of my choice, hope he likes what I pick.

Well if any of you are flying out whether on business of pleasure and you get a chance, go and visit World of Whisky and as usual remember to tell them that the Whisky Boys sent you.
