Jura Tastival 2017
This afternoon I am going to have a wee taste of The Limited Edition Jura Tastival.
For this years Tastival on the 1st of June Jura Distillery released this Limited Edition expression which married some of Jura’s finest Whiskies, which then were matured in first fill American ex bourbon barrels and some very fine Graham’s Port Pipes from Portugal’s Douro Valley.
Jura Tastival 2017 is the first Limited Edition release to be overseen by new Jura Distillery Manager, Graham Logan, who took over from Willie Cochrane in September 2016.
Now let’s have a wee taste.
Jura Tastival 2017 – Limited Edition, Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Non-chill filtered 51% Alc/vol 70 cl.
Colour-Copper sheen
Nose…Sweetness meets my nose first, rich fruit, a wee citrus burst.
Taste…Silky smooth, orange peel, pineapple upside down cake, barley sugar, a little oily, mixed nuts, quite complex, flavours developing all the time.
Finish…Medium finish, quite drying and a touch of salt, but the sweet fruitiness lings well.
A very fine dram indeed, priced at £84.95 per bottle, well done Graham, now looking forward to your next special editions.
