Glenglassaugh 30 Year Old

Tonight we are going to sip a rich 30 Year Old from Glenglassaugh Distillery.

This old Highland Distillery stands on Sandend Bay, a couple of miles from Portsoy, and was built in 1875 by James Moir. In 2013, the BenRiach Distillery Company took over Glenglassaugh distillery with the intention to bring this iconic distillery fully back to life by giving it the investment, commitment and care it deserves.

This Glenglassaugh 30 year old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the first expression to be released by the new owners.

Nose…Caribbean fruits, a sherry fed fruit loaf, oak and a slight hint of white pepper.

Taste…Plump sherried sultanas, runny warm toffee, more oakiness, gentle ginger spice.

Finish…Great long finish, elegant and mildly spiced, the sherry note lingers long.

Score…4 Corks

Well, well that was fabulously elegant and full flavoured dram. If any of our readers get chance to taste this excellent dram, then go for , it is a taste sensation.

Looking forward to some more great expressions from Glenglassaugh Distillery and of course some from Benriach and Glendronach Distilleries.
