Dark Nights with Dark Drams
Well it is official – the clocks changed at the weekend and we are heading into the start of Winter. The nights are getting darker, the jumpers are being pulled on and the chimneys are starting to smoke. The chill is on its way. All the more reason why spirits must be raised on all levels.
There is nothing nicer than having a roaring log fire, some nice spicy candles on and a few dark drams, rich and aromatic.
I thought it would be a good idea to share some of of my personal recommendations:
* Dram 1 Ardmore Traditional Cask, Peated
* Dram 2 Bruichladdich Rum Cask
* Dram 3 Highland Park 12 Year Old
* Dram 4 Oban 14 Year Old
* Dram 5 Talisker 10 Year Old
* Dram 6 Yamazaki Sherry Cask.
There is nothing like being cosy on the inside as well as on the outside. The dram will make you feel mellow and warm and no doubt you will find yourself exhaling from the trials and tribulations of the day.
In a world where so many products disappoint by either the quality being poor or the volume being not as anticipated, it is reassuring that the Scotch Whisky Industry continues to be creative and fulfill expectation. I plan to have one of these evenings next Saturday and while sipping I will be drawing up my Christmas Shopping list. As you can imagine fine Scottish Malt Whisky will feature, so I will share my proposed list and will offer some recommendations based on a variety of things, including value for money.
Enjoy your “Dark Nights with Dark Drams”.
