Whisky Pub of the Week – 19th October 2008
Yesterday I visited one of my most favourite pubs in falkirk Behind the Wall 14 Melville Street, Falkirk FK1 1HZ.
This is a very popular local pub that caters for a wide range of drinkers. My favourite part of this hostelry is the Eglesbrech Ale & Whisky Bar which is upstairs, for this reason I am naming this Whisky Pub of the week for 19th October 2008.
They always have on tap an excellent selection of real ales together with lagers. Their Whisky gantry is always full with an extensive range of blends and malts. I notice they were highlighting the Maccallan as a malt for the Mod which was held in Falkirk this year.
On offer was about half a dozen bottles of Maccallan with a wide range of maturity. While there they were offering the Maccallan 12 year old at £2.00 a measure.
As boring as I am I had my usual lunch which comprised of a Philly Steak long boat and fries washed down with a pint of real ale and finished with a wee dram.
I would recommend visiting Falkirk to seek out this establishment where the selection will not disappoint and provide excellent value for money.
Do you have a favorite pub that is well stocked with Whisky, if so let us know and we may pay a visit and write a review.
