A 21-year-old Bowmore, distilled in 1997 and aged in a single refill hogshead before being bottled in 2018 by Douglas Laing, as a part of its Xtra Old Particular series. This Islay single malt has a bold nose, filled with brown sugar, sea salt, caramel, black pepper and gentle smoke. The palate opens with gentle, sweet notes of freshly-baked brioche, orange peel and rich malt, before notes of honeycomb and earthy peat build into a long, lingering finish.
