The fourth edition of The Arran distillery’s The Bothy Quarter Cask series, this whisky has been aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished for 18 months in American oak quarter casks, allowing extra interaction with the wood. This single malt aims to follow and highlight the tradition of using quarter casks to age whisky on the Isle of Arran, something which delivers heady vanilla-spice flavours. The nose is bursting with fruits and warm oak aromas, and the palate opens with fresh pineapples, peaches and coconut, all mingling with the rich vanilla notes and gentle spices. The finish builds slowly, the vanilla melting away into notes of honey with a sharp citrus edge.
