70cl / 49.4% / Gordon & MacPhail – Part of Goldon & MacPhail’s Private Collection Ultra series this 1956 Linkwood has been matured in a single first fill sherry hogshead for six decades, before being bottled in June 2016. Rich, sweet aromas of baked apple, raisins, sultanas, crème anglaise and toffee sauce over fruitcake fill the nose. The palate offers notes of dark wild honey, apple strudel, fruitcake and dark chocolate orange tart that linger in the finish, alongside oak spice and a touch of candle wax.
