This blended malt has single malts from Caol Ila, Bowmore, Ardbeg, and Port Ellen, four fantastic distilleries.
There are only 300 bottles and you can purchase them at Bannerman’s bar or online at Bannermanslive and priced at £52.00.
Let’s now have a taste.
Colour…Silver fox
Nose…A smoky coal tar nose, campfire toffee apples, sweet and spicy. Briny and salty aromas fill the air as we cut peat and spread it out across the moor.
Taste…A taste of a coastal bonfire, a curious mix of smoked fish, and other notes of rock pools and oyster shells, I have just opened a first aid box, and a teardrop of water releases herbal notes, a slight citrus burst.
Finish…Long, smoky, and with a sweetness, a fantastic finish.
With a slightly higher Alc/vol than the standard Big Peat it certainly shows off the delights of Islay.
Next time The Whisky Boys visit Edinburgh this bar will definitely be on our list for a must visit.
