Whisky Christmas Gifts and Stocking Fillers 2020

Not long now until the festive season is upon us all. Nicola and I have sat down and have a few suggestions that might help you to decide what to get your Whisky loving family and friends.

1st – Membership to The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS)

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society

This has got to be the ultimate gift for someone who really enjoys his/her drams. With 146 different distilleries having been bottled from all corners of the world. Not only Whisky is in their portfolio but they also bottle gin, cognac, armagnac and rum.

With the exception of some very fine blends that carry the SMWS brand, all their Whiskies and spirits are single cask and bottled at cask strength.

With the opening of the Glasgow venue in Bath Street, it will take you one hour or less to visit one of the venues. This must take in more than 70 % of the Scottish population. From Perth to Melrose and Greenock to North Berwick.

Arrange a gift membership by clicking here and start a  flavour journey for a loved one.

2nd – A Weekend Trip to Campbeltown

By car or by bus this must be on your list of places to visit. Book into the Ardshiel Hotel which is within easy walking distance to all three distilleries. (Glen Scotia, Springbank and Glengyle).

The Ardshiel has an outstanding selection of Whiskies and the food is in a class of its own. Surprise your partner by booking the Ardshiel and check out distillery tours. Then you can leave them speechless with this grand gift.

3rd – Brave Staves Whisky Gift Selection

From a previous blog you can see the selection of gifts available from Brave Staves.

Hand made quality is an excellent reason you would buy your Whisky flights, bottle openers, whisky candles, key hooks, guitar hooks and tea light holders. With a total of 13 products available and growing week by week, start your shopping early.

4th – Whisky Lover’s Hampers

The Arran Gift Box offer a vast array of hampers which include Arran Whisky and a wonderful range of Arran foodstuffs and gifts. The prices range from £16.00 to £143.00. There is a hamper to suit everyone.

Stocking Fillers

The Malt Yearbook 2021, available from the 1st October. My favourite Whisky reference book.

The Whisky Distilleries of the United Kingdom by Alfred Barnard first published in 1887. This is a fantastic look at distilleries, some still active, many that are gone, it is also an insight to travel around the UK. Available from Amazon.

The all new Angels’ Share Glass spirit glass which is now my new Whisky sipping glass. The Angels’ Share Spirits Glass can be personalised with a message for a loved one. Plus they have their brand new hip flask, which is outstanding. Check out this website for the new glass together with many other glass Whisky Gifts.

The Whisky Kitchen: 100 Ways with Whisky and Food, A great recipe book that I have used on several occasions. Available on Amazon.
