Whisky Boys 1st Tasting Panel

On Monday 17th February 2020, Nicola and I will be hosting our first Whisky Boys Tasting Panel, which will be held in our world known Whisky Cabin. We will be tasting Islay Malts that are either supermarket own brands or budget Islay Malts.

On the tasting Table will be:-

Glen Marnoch Limited Release – Aldi
Islay Single Malt – Asda
Glenfairn The Pride of Islay – Macgregor Ross & Co – Tesco
Ben Bracken – Lidl

All these bottling’s are at 40% Alc/vol and all cost £20.00 or less.

The guest panelists will be :-

Dougie Ferguson 
Alex Gloag
Scott Young

We will also have Jacqueline in the cabin who has carefully selected cheeses to match our Islay drams.

I was disappointed to find that Morrison’s, Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s do not do an own brand Islay Malt, but, one or two only do Speyside and Highland own brands.

Look out for all the results from the panel and which brand will be crowned our winner.
