Let’s have a wee taste.
BenRiach Cask Strength, Batch 2 – Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Triple Cask Matured, 60.6% Alc/vol
Colour…polished pine
Nose…A hint of fresh root ginger, cottage kitchen with apples stewing on the hob, big oak kitchen table laden with citrus fruits and a selection of apples, a very old fashioned nose, quite delightful
Taste…The first is the nip of the ginger now with a touch chilli. then moves on to lovely oak shavings, vanilla custard and apricot jam, a touch of marzipan icing, with a teardrop of water it becomes sweeter, fruitier and juicier.
Finish…Delightfully long, the oak, root ginger and the hint of chilli chocolate lingers well.
A lovely dram and priced at less than £58.00 this is got to be a bargain, this one can become a regular in the Whisky Boys cabinet.
