The Johnnie Walker name is world known and one of Scotland’s most iconic brands. This expression is only available at travel retail outlets and will be priced at around $95 US. or just under £64 for the one litre bottle. Unlike the tasting of the Spice Road Nicola has joined Jim for this evenings wee tasting.
With the bottle open and the tasting glasses at the ready, lets have a sip.

Jim’s Tasting
Nose…Exotic soft fruits, sweet vanilla, a hint of ginger cake.
Taste…Light peaty smoke, plump raisins, more mouth watering fresh and ripe Caribbean fruits, charred wood from a cold wood fire.
Finish…Medium finish with the fruit an smoke taking charge, appreciates a teardrop of water.
Score…3 Corks
Nicola’s Tasting
Nose…Glossy, vanilla pods, dry, linoleum, moist blueberry muffin, bitter liquorice finish of the nose.
Taste…Wet and damp burnt oak, still drying, more liquorice, burnt spiced loaf.
Finish…Short to medium with a ginger finish.
Score…3.5 Corks
There is no doubt that this dram will follow the success of the Spice Road and The Whisky Boys will certainly try to collect this fab trio the next time we take a trip overseas.
