Johnnie Walker – Explorers’ Club Edition, “ The Gold Route” Blended Scotch Whisky, 40% Alc/vol. 1 Litre bottle.
Nose…Exotic soft fruits, sweet vanilla, a hint of ginger cake.
Taste…Light peaty smoke, plump raisins, more mouth watering fresh and ripe Caribbean fruits, charred wood from a cold wood fire.
Finish…Medium finish with the fruit an smoke taking charge, appreciates a teardrop of water.
Nose…Glossy, vanilla pods, dry, linoleum, moist blueberry muffin, bitter liquorice finish of the nose.
Taste…Wet and damp burnt oak, still drying, more liquorice, burnt spiced loaf.
Finish…Short to medium with a ginger finish.
There is no doubt that this dram will follow the success of the Spice Road and The Whisky Boys will certainly try to collect this fab trio the next time we take a trip overseas.
If any of our readers enjoy the Johnnie Walker Double Black, then this one will be a delight to your taste buds and nose.
