This distillery has a very good web site and we would suggest you visit it sometime, you will not be disappointed.
This dram is matured in the three most traditional cask types, first fill bourbon, refill bourbon and sherry, giving its characteristic honey, spice and subtle oak notes.
Each and every cask used is hand selected by Malt Master David Stewart, who’s signature adorns the packaging and the bottle.
You can check out the Whisky Boys tasting of the The Balvenie Doublewood Single Malt, (The name is for the traditional oak casks and then to first fill European sherry casks.) which scored quite high on our cork ratings.
This dram is now high on our list of future tastings, hoping it will be as good as its little brother the Doublewood.
