Bruichladdich Whisky – Price Comparison September 2010

This price comparison is for a bottle of Bruichladdich 17 Year Old Pedro Ximenez Sherry, Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 46% Alc/vol 70cl.

This Bruichladdich is part of a 6,000 bottle release. Matured in ex-bourbon casks followed by a period of double maturation in Pedro Ximinez casks.

We first checked out Whisky Galore, www.thegreenwellystop.co.uk which on this occasion you can either buy on-line or visit The Green Welly Stop up at Tyndrum. (and it just so happens that in a week or so Jim and his wife Jacqueline together with four other bruichladdich-pedro-ximinezfamily members will be having breakfast their on our way up to Plockton for the weekend, check out the Plockton Inn, a great place to stay and eat) On this site they had this dram for £56.99 Plus £6.00 postage and packaging.

Whisky Galore total cost including P & P is £62.99.

Second on our list was the Whisky Barrel, www.thewhiskybarrel.com which as far as we could see had the largest selection of Bruichladdich expressions online.

They had a price for this bottle of £53.49 and on top was the postage and packaging cost of £7.50

Our final visit of the day was to Master of Malt, www.masterofmalt.com and this site is very easy to navigate through and their selection of drams is out of this world and they have some sample bottles for you to purchase so you can have your own mini tasting session without going to the big expense of buying full size bottles the have this Bruichladdich on sale for £49,95 and then add the postage and packaging of £4.95.

Master of Malt total cost including P & P is £54.90.

You can still save money by taking your time and visiting a couple more sites prior to making your mind up. The other benefit of visiting some of these sites as they do carry a certain amount of good information and in some cases tasting notes are also available, keep enjoying your drams and if you buy a bottle or three, tell them The Whisky Boys sent you.
