Glen Grant Whisky – Price Comparison February 2011

This price comparison is for a 70cl bottle of Glen Grant 10 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 40% Alc/vol.

On this occasion we decided to check out the prices of some Whisky shops that also sell on-line.

This dram from the Glen Grant Distillery up in Rothes and is very high on Jim’s list of distilleries to visit when he visits Speyside.

So, now lets go shopping:

Whisky Galore

Our first visit was to Whisky Galore, their shop is in Tyndrum on the main road north to Fort William. They are selling a bottle for £28.99 plus £6.00 for shipping/packaging costs.

Royal Mile Whiskies

Second on our list is Royal Mile Whiskies, 379 High Street, Royal Mile , Edinburgh  this a favourite spot in our capital for tourists to purchase their drams. On sale here is a bottle for £25.95 plus £7.70 for shipping/packaging costs.

Royal Mile Whiskies total price including p & p is £33.65

Loch Fyne Whiskies

Our final visit on the shopping trip was to Loch Fyne Whiskies, Inveraray, Argyll, a must stop when driving to get the ferry to Islay. This shop had their bottle up for sale for only £24.50 and £7.64 for shipping and packaging.

Loch Fyne Whiskies total price including p & p is £32.14

Overall not a lot of difference only £2.85 in total costs but the difference in bottle price is £4.49. On this occasion we can only say that if you are using the on-line services of any of these shops and find them to be efficient, then stay with them.
