Westland looks to display the character of its Pilot barley with this release. The grain has imparted a subtle tea note to the whisky which has been partially matured in a second-fill oloroso hogshead to add body and character, without overpowering the barley flavours. There are notes of apple cider, chamomile tea, almond, milk chocolate and lemongrass on the palate. This is an American single malt with a strong sense of place.
