The Lochside distillery in Montrose, Angus, stopped production in April 1992 and was eventually demolished in 2005. This rare single malt was distilled a year before the distillery closed, making it one of the last vintages ever produced. As a tribute to the distillery's legacy, Gordon & MacPhail released this single-cask expression as part of the Connoisseurs Choice range. The whisky was matured in a refill bourbon barrel, allowing its fruity and malty notes to shine through.
