This beautifully presented Glenfarclas was filled from a single sherry cask laid down on 1 January 2000. After 24 years in oak, it offers an elegant and mature expression of this great Speyside distillery’s character with inviting notes of hazelnuts, walnuts and well-aged sherries, followed by sweeter hints of apricot, dark fruits and toffee. This is the third of five entries in the Decanter series, a collection of single cask whiskies intended to honour the five generations that have watched over Glenfarclas.
