A smoky, citrussy 2003 Caol Ila single malt from French indie bottler La Maison du Whisky, matured in a single hogshead before being bottled in 2019 as part of its Artist series. Aromas of olives, peat smoke, ash, seaweed and orchard fruits fill the nose, as well as lemon, sage and heather honey. The palate opens with notes of pepper, star anise and nutmeg, followed by red cherries, peat, walnuts, apples, pears and soft smoke.
