70cl / 51% / Douglas Laing – A 1996 Bowmore single malt from independent bottler Douglas Laing that was matured in a refill hogshead for quarter of a century, before being bottled in March 2022 as part of its Xtra Old Particular series. Aromas of cured meats, peaty barley and damp earth fill the nose, complemented by notes of seaweed, charred oak, streaky bacon, dark toffee and rich smoke throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.
