The Lakes Single Malt Whisky – The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No. 3

The Lakes Distillery, Sitting by the Bassenthwaite Lake and surrounded by picturesque views of the Lake District, this distillery is located in a lovingly renovated Victorian model farm.  

This distillery not only produces a fine range of Single Malt Whiskies but their portfolio includes a blended malt a blend, gin and vodka.

This distillery also boasts a shop, a bistro and does some delightful tours. They opened the distillery in 2014 with a very simple dream; to create a world-class single malt whisky.

Colour…Wild fox tail

Nose…Deep and delightful, dark chocolate coated almonds, sticky toffee pudding.
Taste...On the palate this was big and dark, smouldering and rich,  sweet dark chocolate, treacle toffee, dates, fragrant wood spices, evoking dark but cosy secrets.
Finish…A long finish with succulent honey and a chocolate coated mouth feel

Well, well this is one of the finest English Whiskies I have tasted and priced at only £63.95, this is a little gem. The Whisky Boys are preparing for distillery visits and tasting when the lockdown is fully over, The Lakes Distillery. has now made it on to our wish list for a visit and to obtain a bottle for our future tastings.
