Teeling 14 Year Old Revival Vol III
The Teeling Whiskey Company have now released their third limited edition (only 10,000 bottles) bottling in The Revival Commemorative Series.
This bottling was matured initially in bourbon barrels and then finished in EX-PINEAU DES CHARENTES BARRELS which imparts a bit of extra sweetness.
Jack Teeling, Founder and Managing Director of the Teeling Whiskey Company, commented, “It is hard to believe we are just 18 months away from having Irish whiskey distilled from our new distillery in Dublin and to honour this half way point we have decided to release something very unique to mark the occasion with the first ever Pineau des Charentes finished Irish whiskey. Our third Revival release will be limited to only 10,000 bottles and sold both through our distillery as well as our domestic and international distributors.”
All this is sounding great lets open a bottle and have a wee taste.
Teeling Revival Vol. III – 14 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey, 46% Alc/vol
Colour…Gold leaf sheen.
Nose…Honey is first to greet you, chocolate covered pineapple, old oak staves,
sweet and creamy, mixed crushed nuts.
Taste…Rich dark fruit cake with a chocolate sauce, nice nippy wood spice, honey
roasted peanuts, candied walnuts, pineapple upside down cake, nice creamy
mouth feel, a tasty and complex dram.
Finish…Medium to long, a smooth tingle on the palate, ripe banana with warm chocolate
sauce, nice dram.
I enjoyed this one, I also like the decanter style bottle. It is now on sale for approximately £110.00 which in my opinion is a little too expensive, albeit a standout Irish Single Malt.
Try and find a bar that is selling this Teeling Whiskey and have a wee taste prior to buying a full bottle.
