Linkwood Whisky – A Scotch Malt Whisky Society Single (SMWS)  Cask Bottling No. 39.73. 18 Year Old 48% Alc/vol

Thursday 17th June 2010 at around 8pm when Dougie gave Jim a call and suggested that he came round for a wee impromptu tasting.

Dougie had managed via a friend to get some sample bottles of three different drams.

The 39.73 relates to the origin of the bottle, 39 is the code for Linkwood and the 73 is the 73rd cask of Linkwood that SMWS has bottled.

Born out of a love of whisky, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society was established in Edinburgh in 1983. Now, more than 25 years on, the Society is internationally recognised as one of the most reliable sources of the finest and most exclusive single cask, single malt whiskies.

So Dougie had his table all set for the first tasting of the evening.scottish-malt-whisky-society1
