Glenlivet Whisky – 18 Year Old Pure Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Glenlivet Whisky – 18 Year Old Pure Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Jim and Nicola opened this award winning bottle the other night (Wednesday 2nd June 2010) and quietly sat around the garden table with all our tasting glasses and water jug together with our oatcakes and dark chocolate.
You can see from our Whisky Tastings that we have tasted Glenlivets before, Glenlivet 12 Year Old, Glenlivet 15 Year Old and Glenlivet “Nadurra” 16 Year Old to name but a few, so far none these Malts have let us down. So it was with great pleasure that we were about to enjoy another expression from The Glenlivet Distillery.

Well, we both loved this sweet wee dram and we have decided to keep a little for Dougie to have a wee taste, we think this will be a big hit with Dougie.
This 18 Year Old is not so easily available from you local supermarkets but if you check with you nearest specialist Whisky shop or indeed go online and you will certainly be able to purchase this wee nip and it’s not too expensive.
As usual if you obtain yourself a bottle, tell them the Whisky Boys sent you.
The Glenlivet 18 year old is indeed a very fine single malt scotch. It represents great value for money too as you have pointed out. Most 18 year old malts are considerably more expensive but are not necessarily better.
When leaving from Bergamo (Italy) airport on September 5th (2011) I visited the only duty-free shop I could find. On the shelves I immediately recognized Chivas Regal 12 and 21 YO, Glenfiddich 12 and 15 YO (there was no Glenfiddich 18 or older), Dalmore Gran Reserva. The Glenlivet 18 was selling for 44 EURO and I purchased a 1L bottle of this awesome speysider.
