Glenfarclas 10 Year Old – Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

In 1865, John Grant purchased the Glenfarclas distillery for £511.19s.0d, initially intending to support his farming business at Rechlerich Farm. However, this acquisition became the foundation of a remarkable family legacy in Speyside’s whisky-making tradition. Nestled at the foot of Ben Rinnes, the distillery soon became the Grants’ primary focus as they recognised its potential to produce exceptional single malt Scotch whisky. Over six generations, the family has upheld traditional methods and their commitment to quality, earning Glenfarclas a reputation as one of Scotland’s finest distilleries.

Glenfarclas Casks

Glenfarclas is renowned for its rich, sherry-cask-aged whiskies, including two standout offerings. The Glenfarclas 105, launched in 1968, was one of the first commercially available cask-strength single malts, known for its bold flavors of dried fruit, toffee, and spice. The Family Cask collection, introduced in 2007, showcases rare vintage whiskies spanning decades, each drawn from a single cask. Together, these iconic whiskies reflect the Grant family’s dedication to excellence and tradition.

Today there are several tours available at the distillery and some that finish with a wee tasting of one of the distillery’s bottlings.

It is now time to open the bottle and have a taste.
