Let’s now have a wee taste.

Tamdhu- 15 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% Alc/vol Non-chill filtered 70cl

Colour…Dark rich hazelnut

Nose…Tantalising sweet and savoury, soft sherry, way, way in the background is a hint of smoke, apple and pineapple.
Taste…Sweet and smooth, ultra rich, gentle spice and sweet sherry, orange oil, kid leather, Bakewell tart.
Finish…Long and sweet, vanilla ice cream, sweet and creamy sherry.

This a very fine dram showcasing the finest Oloroso maturation. This bottle of Tamdhu 15 year old will cost you £79.95 and it’s worth every penny.

The second tasting is the Batch Strength Batch No 004.

Batch Strength No. 4 is a Speyside Single Malt matured in ex-Olorosso Sherry casks made from American and European oak, before being bottled without chill filtration at 57.8% abv.

Let’s dive in and have a wee taste.

Tamdhu Batch Strength Batch No 004 – Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 57.8%Non-chill filtered 70cl

Colour…Aztec gold.

Nose…Wow, juicy spiced wood, honey and vanilla, marmalade, Nutella on toasted bagels.
Taste…Extravagrant, initialy a bit fiery but swiftly replaced by sweet oak, double cream over soft orchard fruits.
Finish…A long and rich finish, plumped sherried sultanas, the oak is still shining.

As a lover of cask strength Whiskies this one is up there in my top 10, try it with just a tear drop of water, it is elegant and rich a real slow sipper. Of the two I have tasted today this one is my favourite, must get one for the Whisky Boys cabinet.

Tamdhu Batch Strength No. 4 is available worldwide at specialist retailers for £71.75 per bottle.
