Well its here, we are on the steep slope holding onto the sides of our sledge as we approach Christmas.

The shops have started there really big push to get into our wallets with many offers – pay for two and get the third one free, 25% discount if you buy six bottles of wine, etc etc etc, many of which are great offers. The Whisky Boys would like to suggest that the big stores – ASDA, Tesco, Morrison’s – come on we dare you – to put on an offer of buy one get one free on a bottle of malt – they can guarantee that by far this will make their supermarket THE MOST popular. (Their preference would be if it was a high end bottle of malt – but they are aware that “you don’t always get what you want”.

As you can imagine, the Christmas gift of a fine bottle of Whisky is a very popular choice, especially if the drinker enjoys the occasional dram and you want to really treat them. To assist you to get a dram that suits their palate the Whisky Boys would like to share with you what their preferred Christmas Whisky gift would be drawn from the drams that they have sampled over the past year.

Where else could you get an objective opinion of which malt to pick for a Christmas present. We acknowledge that the opinions are subjective to the Whisky Boys palate, but they ain’t working on a promotional deal from anybody, they are just sharing with you their experience, and preference.

We hope that the whole build up to Christmas is not too stressful and that where possible try and chill out. The secret to an enjoyable Christmas is to do as much preparation as possible so that you have no last minute pressure and are able to curl up on the couch, exhale and take a sip of a delightful warming dram.

The Whisky Boys are planning to have a few tasty meals over the Festive Season, which will take in Christmas, New Year (and a Whisky Boys wife’s birthday – don’t forget Jim), so watch out for the reports.
