Cardhu has two main products :-

Cardhu 12 Year Old Single Malt.
Cardhu 22 Year Old Single Malt Special Reserve.

This distillery is situated on a small hill with a great view over to Ben Rinnes, and with Knockando and Tamdu as neighbours ( I would not mind them being my neighbours).

On this occasion I have no intention to go into the arguments that ensued several years ago when the word “pure” was brought into the Cardhu product by Diageo.

Such is the popularity of Cardhu Single Malt in Spain that worldwide demand has outstripped the capacity of this small distillery, with the result that its malt is sadly no longer available in many countries.

The malt itself – which is presented in an elegant decanter style bottle with a beechwood stopper.

This Single Malt was purchased at the new Sainsbury’s store in Denny just outside Falkirk and at the time of purchase is was on special offer and had a £5 reduction.

As usual this is a new malt to the Whisky Boys and as yet still to have an official tasting, but as we now have a bottle in stock we can expect a tasting to happen in the not to distant future, watch this space, and if you go out and buy a bottle tell them the Whisky Boys sent you.
