White Peak distillery's first Wire Works release of 2023, Double Oak Port is a lightly peated English single malt that was initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in ex-Port casks. Aromas of Royal icing, cinnamon, fruit cake, toffee apples and cherry lozenges fill the nose, followed by notes of Sichuan pepper, hot cross buns and marzipan that fill the palate, with hints of leather, cinder toffee, smouldering bonfires and dark chocolate lingering in the finish.
