A zesty dram from the Pulteney distillery – Old Pulteney is the name of the distillery's own whisky, so the folks at Gordon & MacPhail miss out the 'old' for their whiskies. It was distilled in 1998 and bottled in June 2018 after about 20 years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, and the distillery's briney and citrusy character has combined elegantly with rich and creamy vanilla notes from the casks.
