Glen Moray – Forbidden Fruit
Here is the newest expression from Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin.
Glen Moray is one of The Whisky Boys’ favourite distilleries. Every time we visit Speyside, our trip would not be complete without a visit to Glen Moray, hoping to meet Iain Allan and Emma Ware.
This grand distillery has been producing Single Malt Whisky since 1897, with a short silent period due to The Great War.

Glen Moray is famous for its choice of casks and finishes with quite an outstanding range and all are priced very well.
My favourites over the years were The Cider Cask Project and The Twisted Vine expressions.
This expression is the third single malt in Glen Moray’s Xpertience Collection, the other two are Phoenix Rising and Twisted Vine.
Glen Moray Global Brand Ambassador Iain Allan said: “Cask exploration has been a huge part of the Glen Moray Distillery story for over a century, and Forbidden Fruit is a wonderful new testament to this heritage. It is a sweet, spicy and very morish single malt which we’re sure will be a tempting treat for whisky fans to explore, whether they are connoisseurs or new to single malts.”

Let’s not waste any more time, now going to open the bottle and have a couple of sips.
Colour…Golden polished copper.
Nose…Elegance in a glass, sweet aromas are well in charge, with loads of fruit, especially apple and fresh Danish pastries still slightly warm.
Taste…So easy on the palate, hard-boiled fruit sweets, apple and pear with a side of rich Madagascar vanilla ice cream, now sampling some pastries in a patisserie.
Finish…Nice and long, it still feels elegant in a glass; the fruit remains in full charge.
Well, we have another triumph from Glen Moray,
I have to give a big THANKS to Glen Moray Distillery and Rachael Tyrrell, the Account Director of Burt Greener Communications, Edinburgh. For the generous bottle for my review and tasting.
Now we come to the price, RRP of £35.50 for a 70 cl bottle. This price is so wrong it should be a lot more expensive for such a dram of this quality and flavour.
