The Borders Malt & Rye. WS:01
The distillery is in the Borders town of Hawick and is the first Borders Scotch Whisky distillery since 1837. Distilling gin, vodka and all from locally sourced barley. Also are a couple of blends and Malt and Rye is one of them.
WS:01 is the first release of a new line by the Borders Distillery. The Workshop Series blends Grain Rye spirit with Borders Malt, producing a limited edition blended Scotch With Only 6000 bottles will be released in the UK
The distillery has two wash and two spirit stills and while their single malt is maturing they have released blends under the name of Clan Fraser and Clan Fraser Reserve together with Malt and Rye.
The Malt and Rye blended Scotch Whisky is bottled without filtration and is 63.9% Single Grain and 36.2 Single Malt.

Colour…Oaked Chardonnay
Nose…First is the fruitiness, gentle but warm spices, and the slightest hint of a lightly charred stave.
Taste…In came warm vanilla, golden syrup flapjacks, sweet mouthfeel, elegant and smooth, more gentle spices.
Finish…Warming medium finish, fruity, some spices lingering.
