First published in the Autumn of 2005 by founder and editor Ingvar Ronde. It pretty much does exactly what it says on the front cover and more – the facts, the industry, the faces behind the brands, the news, the stories.

Here at Whisky Boys HQ we have championed this publication for the past 10 years. On the Whisky Boys shelves, we have every edition from 2010.

Without exception, this is by far the best Malt Whisky reference book on the market today.

If you are in the Whisky Industry (master distiller/blender, ambassador, tour guide, Whisky shop owner/assistant, bloggers etc) this book is a must to be on hand at all times.

Every year Nicola and I will look at the past year and select our favourite drams, distillery, blends, non-Scotch Whiskies, distillery tours and more. Every year the Malt Whisky Yearbook comes out top, no other reverence book comes close.

This edition includes details, fact and figures on 665 Malt Whisky Distilleries worldwide, including over 200 tasting notes and valuable information on bottlings and new and evolving whisky-related web sites.

When Nicola and I sit down to prepare a tasting with notes we have the Malt Yearbook at hand. It gives us details of the distilleries and the drams we intend to taste.

The other grand part of the Yearbook is that you can sit with your favourite dram and browse through many articles like in the 2020 edition :-

Foreign ownership of Scotch Whisky

Supermarket Sweep

Whisky Regions – are they still relevant

Innovation within boundaries

We would expect all our readers to now be logging on and ordering your own copy of the Malt Whisky Yearbook 2021. Especially if you have not had a previous edition then this will now convert you into ordering the new edition every year, happy reading.

One of my favourite whisky books, and always a great read each year. We were over the moon to appear in the 2020 edition – made the year a bit brighter! Cheers, Ed
