Macallan Scotch – Select Oak from the 1824 Selection

It is a slightly cold and windswept Tuesday evening on this the 1st day of September 2009, when in Jim’s dining room gathered Jim, Dougie and Nicola with our guest taster Bruce Paterson (a highly specialised nurse from Detroit, Michigan USA). Bruce has for as far as he can remember had an undying love for Scotland and all things Scottish and of course that includes it’s national drink, Scotch. (p.s. he also loves Irn-Bru) Bruce has been given the honory title of the Whisky Boy American Ambassador.

The choice of tonight’s tasting is a Macallan Scotch, and on this occasion it was not purchased by any of the Whisky Boys but indeed supplied by Bruce, who picked it up at the duty free on his travel to Scotland. (and the other good thing is it came in the litre size bottle)

First we have to say thanks to Bruce for bringing this fabulous Single Malt to our table.

We all agreed that this wee dram was of the highest quality and will be a winner throughout the world. This Malt is very easy to drink especially with a little dash of water added, which helps bring out some of the exceptional flavour and delicate aroma’s.

Well done once again, Macallan.
