Thursday 19th November 2009, the day after we tasted the Douglas Laing’s bottling of the 11 Year old Macallan, so Jim and Dougie were still in the mood for another special tasting...

Firstly we have to thank Jenny McMahon of Weber Shandwick for her kind invitation to this tasting. (looking forward to many more, we hope). Jim, Dougie and Nicola (better known as The Whisky Boys ) got a lift from Cathie to Falkirk High Station for a train ride through to Waverly station in Edinburgh, we arrived at approx 5.15 pm and our appointment with the Whisky Society was for 6 pm. So we had a little time to spare, we did manage to walk over to George Street and stopped of at Jekyll and Hyde pub, which was quite a wee experience.
Last night Wednesday 11th November 2009 Jim took round to Dougie’s a bottle of Glenfarclas 105.
This was a bottle that Dougie had wanted to taste ever since his visit to Speyside and especially his trip into the Glenfarclas Distillery earlier this year.
