jamie-milne-glenfiddich“A limited edition release of only 250 bottles, this very special Single Malt was created in honour of #TeamGlenfiddich’s epic race to the South Pole for Walking With The Wounded.

Matured for 29 years in a single refill sherry cask and personally selected by Glenfiddich’s Malt Master, this expression has been finished in a special ex-bourbon cask covered in messages of support for the team, adding addi
tional layers of depth and complexity.

Over the summer of 2013, an ex-bourbon cask was chosen to tour the UK, collecting handwritten messages of support for the team. The cask then returned to Warehouse 8, where they continued to add more words of support. The ex-bourbon cask added soft, sweet notes, absorbing your messages to create the Spirit of a Nation.”

It was a fantastic night with some old friends and meeting some new, Jamie, as usual was expertly educating everyone about Glenfiddich with his humour and knowledge of all things Glenfiddich.

The Restaurant was outstanding with our private room on the roof which had an uninterruptewhisky-boy-jim-and-jamie-milned view of the iconic Edinburgh Castle.

We tasted superb cuisine and each course was paired with an expression of Glenfiddich.

An excellent selection of drams carefully selected by Jamie Milne to compliment  some truly exquisite food.  Congratulations to Jamie both Whisky Boys thought your pairings were spot on.

The highlight of the evening was having a dram of the 29 Year Old Spirit of the Nation, which was full of dried fruits, vanilla by the shovelful, soft new leather, wood spices with a long and sweet lingering finish.
