Blended Whisky of the Month – August 2011

This months blend is quite special as we think it is the only blend that has finely matured malts from exceptional casks taken from chosen distilleries of the six Scottish Islands, Arran, Islay, Jura, Mull, Orkney and Skye.

This blend is:-

The Six Isles Blended Malt Scotch Whisky – Non-chill Filtered – 43% Alc/vol 70cl

The Six Isles

So The Six Isles are in excellent company.

Jim has tasted this dram on many an occasion, it is not readily available in your local supermarket but you can get it on-line and at your specialist Whisky shop and the last bottle Jim bought, which was only a couple of weeks ago, was from The Good Spirits Co in Bath Street, Glasgow.

We shall be doing a full tasting of this dram soon, but Jim has found it to be a fabulously peaty/smoky dram with loads of sweet citrus, vanilla and heathery notes, do go out and find a bottle you will not be disappointed.
