Tyrconnell Whiskey – The Tyrconnell Single Malt Irish Whiskey

Tyrconnell Whiskey – The Tyrconnell Single Malt Irish Whiskey 40% Alc/vol.

From previous blogs you will know that Jim brought back Nicola a bottle of Tyrconnell Whiskey which he purchased on his visit to Kilbeggan Distillery last month.

So it was no surprise when Nicola phoned and suggested that Jim come over to join her and her neighbour Lee (a previous guest taster) as they were about to open said bottle. Jim was there before Nicola put the phone down.

Tyrconnell is a historic Irish Whiskey from the 1900’s that was named after a famous racehorse that won a legendary race at odds of tyrconnell-whiskey-and-glasses100 to 1. Cooley is extremely proud of being able to resurrect Tyrconnell Single Malt and keeping it independent, thereby enabling it to maintain its authenticity. The inspirational image of the Tyrconnell racehorse that so defied the odds can be still seen on the label to this day.

Well this impromptu tasting went down really well, this is a great wee dram. The girls were well impressed when they drank it with ice. Jim on the other hand just put in a touch of H2O.

Check out both websites above to find out all about Tyrconnell, Cooley and of course Kilbeggan Whisky and Connemara Whiskies.

These drams are not easily available in your supermarket’s but they are certainly available in your specialist Whisky shops and on-line.Or even better visit Kilbeggan distillery and enjoy a tour and a dram at the tasting table and stock up at their shop.

As always remember to tell them that the Whisky Boys sent you.
