Dewars Whisky – World of Whiskies, Heathrow

Heathrow Terminal 1 Friday 17th October.

World of Whiskies employee ‘Michael’, a thoroughly nice guy who knows a thing or two about Whisky,  was handing over my usual purchase of my staple blend “Dewars Whisky –  12 Year Old Special Reserve” on offer at all BAA Duty Free shops at two for £35.00.  Which is a great bargain because the contents of these bottles contain a mouth wateringly spiciness that just suits my taste to a tee. (tasting of the Dewars Whisky – 12 Year Old Special Reserve will follow shortly).

I digress however, after handing over four litres (you have to look after your friends) Michael advises me that he has a special offer in store, and would I be interested in their last bottle of 41 year old malt from the Balblair Distillery Co Ltd, near Tain Rosshire.  This malt was distilled in 1966 and bottled by Gordon and MacPhail in 2007.

This 41 year old malt is for my collection and I do not expect to be opening it in the near future, but has anyone got a bottle that they have opened , if so can you tell me how good it is, many thanks.

By the way the best bit is “it only cost me £32.99” now is that a good buy or what?
